Saudi Cement is proud of its leading position as one of the largest cement and clinker producers in the Middle East. The company represents a very important link in the supply chain of this industry, and has played a vital and effective role in many giant projects in the region for more than half a century.

In an ancient region with many riches and potentials, the ideal choice was “Al-Ahsa Governorate”, which was not a coincidence, but rather a long-term strategic decision, as it is located on the largest oil field in the world, Ghawar Field. The site was distinguished by its proximity to the energy and fuel sources necessary to operate the factory, in addition to the availability of raw materials used in the cement manufacturing process, as well as the abundance of skilled and professional workers. Since its establishment in 1955 as a Saudi joint-stock company, the company has enjoyed major expansions and its profits have doubled in an unprecedented manner.

In 2008, Saudi Cement achieved one of its most important milestones by operating two new production lines with an actual production capacity of 24,000 tons of clinker per day. This expansion was the largest of its kind globally at the time, and contributed to increasing the capacity available to Saudi Cement by about eight million tons of clinker per year, which strengthened the company’s solid and unique position in terms of economies of scale and production efficiency.

Saudi Cement has a strong regional reputation as one of the most trusted companies in Saudi Arabia and the Gulf region, with a market value of approximately SAR 14.7 billion (around USD 4 billion) at the beginning of 2015, in addition to its commitment to the highest standards of integrity, transparency and credibility. End users and contractors also resort to the company’s high-quality products to build infrastructure including hospitals, roads, bridges, airports, ports, railways, metro trains and many housing, educational, commercial and other projects.

The year 2015 marked the 60th anniversary of the establishment of Saudi Cement. Building on its track record of successes and major achievements, Saudi Cement pledges to move forward and keep pace with the latest developments in the industry in order to drive the Saudi economy towards further progress and prosperity. To this end, Saudi Cement held a special ceremony on October 20, 2015 to launch the new identity of Saudi Cement, which reflects its rich heritage, glorious present, creative innovations and bright future, God willing.
