Saudi and Qatari foreign ministers discuss developments in US-Iran negotiations

The Saudi foreign minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, and his Qatari counterpart, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, discussed the latest developments in the region.

During their telephone conversation on Monday they focused on diplomatic efforts that culminated in the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the US and Iran last week, ending more than 100 days of conflict in the Middle East.

The ministers emphasized their support for continuing negotiations between Washington and Tehran, in which Qatar and Pakistan are acting as mediators, and expressed hope that the talks would lead to a permanent agreement that enhances regional security and stability.

Sheikh Mohammed affirmed Doha’s full support for ongoing negotiations that aim to achieve sustainable solutions through dialogue and peaceful means, the Qatar News Agency reported.
