

The Saudi foreign minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, discussed the latest developments in the region with his Jordanian counterpart, Ayman Safadi, on the sidelines of the 165th ordinary session of the Arab League Council in Amman on Monday.
Prince Faisal also attended a separate consultative meeting of foreign ministers and other officials from the member states of the Gulf Cooperation Council. The participants welcomed the memorandum of understanding signed by the US and Iran last week, which brought to an end more 100 days of conflict in the Middle East.
They emphasized the importance of mediation and calming efforts to help promote diplomatic solutions and ensure regional stability.
Also on Monday, the prince took part in a meeting of Arab and GCC foreign ministers during which they discussed the situations in the Palestinian territories and Lebanon, in light of Israeli military action in both areas, and emphasized the importance of coordinated efforts to maintain peace and security in the region.
